DIY Ring Sizing Guide

While it is still best to measure your size with a ring sizer – which we offer for FREE through this link – there are still other ways to measure one's ring size.

Method 1: Measure an existing ring

  1. Make sure that the ring that you will be measuring perfectly fits the finger.
  2. Lay the ring on a flat sheet of paper and carefully trace the inside circumference.
  3. Measure the diameter of the traced circle and match the measurement with the chart below.

Method 2: Use a yarn, or a strip of paper

  1. Cut out a strip of yarn or paper.
  2. Wrap it around the base of the finger where you plan on wearing the ring.
  3. Mark where the ends overlap.
  4. Measure with a ruler and match with the inside circumference in the chart below.

Ring Sizing Tips:

  1. Your dominant hand usually has a bigger ring size. Make sure to measure the right finger, or whichever side you prefer wearing your ring, Traditionally, rings are worn on the left.
  2. We all differ in bone structure. Some fingers are balanced from the tip toward the palm while some have larger knuckles. Pick a size that feels comfortable when the ring is worn, as long as it fits the knuckles.
  3. Wider bands fit tighter. Consider picking a half-size bigger if the band width is 5mm and up.
  4. Fingers shrink and expand depending on the body temperature. In colder climates, fingers tend to be thinner compared when in warmer climates. If you are or will be based in the temperate region, consider getting a ring half-size smaller.
