You're finally ready, have a surprise proposal plan in mind, and a prepared budget for the ring - then it strikes you - you have no idea of your partner's size. Worry not, we're here to help you figure this out. Here are some tips on how to know your partner's size without them knowing.
1. Try their ring
If your partner happens to have an existing ring that fits perfect, try it on your own finger. It doesn't have to fit perfectly, but at least you'll have an idea. Check your own ring size and adjust the size accordingly.
2. Sneak in and borrow a ring
Sneakily borrow their ring and trace the inside circumference on a flat paper. Measure the diameter. Check the Ring Size Conversion chart on this page and match the diameter with the ring size.
3. Ask their friends
Their friends might know your partner's ring size. It doesn't hurt to ask. Better yet, ask them to try and checkout engagement rings in malls when they go out. This will provide a more accurate size.
4. Compare fingers
Compare your fingers with theirs, measure your ring size, and adjust accordingly.
5. Take a picture of their finger
We have been in the business long enough to precisely estimate one's ring size. It might not be 100% accurate, but when all options fail, we still have a last resort.
